Assistant Clinical Director
Pay: $45-50/hour+ DOE
Hours: 31-40 hours/week, flexible schedule, may require occasional evening meetings, depending on organizational need

Supervises: Clinical staff (licensed clinicians, associates, interns), possibly supervisors
Work Environment: Hybrid position split between Flourish Therapy’s offices in Orem and home office (including video conference meetings with other clinical staff).

Position Summary
The Assistant Clinical Director will work alongside the Clinical Director to support the leadership, oversight, and continual improvement of clinical services. This senior clinical leadership position is responsible for supervising clinical staff, supporting program development and quality initiatives, ensuring regulatory compliance, and fostering a positive, inclusive clinical culture. The Assistant Clinical Director may also carry a small clinical caseload to stay connected with direct service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Provide leadership support for the clinical department, helping develop strategic plans, set clinical goals, and monitor progress toward those goals.
Supervise, mentor, and support a team of clinicians and supervisors (including licensed clinicians, associate clinicians, and interns) to ensure high-quality service delivery.
Lead and/or support quality assurance and improvement efforts: audits/chart reviews, outcome measurement, documentation compliance, risk management.
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, licensing standards, funder/insurance requirements, and organizational policies (including HIPAA, state licensing boards, managed care contracts).
Collaborate with operations, finance, HR, development and other departments to integrate clinical goals with organizational goals (e.g., budgeting, staffing, resources, business development).
Promote a positive and inclusive clinical culture: equity, diversity, clinician wellbeing, inter-professional collaboration, continuous learning.
Maintain a modest direct clinical caseload (as needed) to stay practice-connected and model clinical excellence.
Other duties as assigned by the Clinical Director or Executive Leadership.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications
Master’s or Doctoral degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Clinical Psychology, Social Work, or Clinical Mental Health.
Active, unrestricted licensure (e.g., LCSW, LMFT, LPC, PsyD).
Minimum of 5 years of clinical practice experience, and at least 2-3 years of supervisory or leadership experience in a behavioral health/mental health setting.
Demonstrated knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic modalities, outcome measurement, treatment planning, and clinical supervision best practices.
Experience working in nonprofit or community mental health settings preferred, including familiarity with managed care, Medicaid/Medicare, grants and regulatory frameworks.
Proficiency in TherapyNotes or similar EHR.
Proficiency in Google Sheets and other Google Workspace products
Lived experience with or in the LGBTQ+ community.
Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills — able to lead, mentor, and engage clinicians and interdisciplinary staff.
Comfortable working with data, metrics, and translating them into program improvements.
Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage multiple priorities, adapt to change, and work collaboratively across departments.
